From April 2014 the Percentage Threshold Scheme (PTS) is being abolished. This means that employers will no longer be able to reclaim some of the Statutory Sick Pay that they pay to employees who are sick.
However the employment allowance will be introduced. Entitled businesses will be able to reduce their National Insurance contributions by up to £2000 per year. Look out for our posts on eligibility but govenment statistics claim that over 450,00 small business, charities and CASC’s will benefit.
